'Loma Parda: Early Morning'
Oil on Canvas
Our local art council, MMAC (Manzano Mountain Arts Council), has started an ongoing project of exhibiting an artist a month in their huge front windows. This is one of their ways of supporting the arts in this community. I will be the window artist for the month of May with this piece. Thanks MMAC!
The council does an amazing job, with outreach to young artists, various art exhibitions on its walls, a gift shop, lectures and talks when people can gather, and workshops. It also has a partnership of sorts with the Salt Mission trails and other archeological and historical associations, helping to publicize the groups and educate those of us in the area of the rich history here.
30% of the sales from the window project will go to help the MMAC keep going. If you have a chance come visit the MMAC in Mountainair NM, 101 E Broadway. The current wall exhibition is 'Critters: Finned, Feathered, Furred.' Visit the gift shop! the restaurants are open!
